Chelsea Knuckey
Therapist, MA Counselling Psych (RCT-C)
Registered in Nova Scotia
Hello, my name is Chelsea. I am a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate (RCT-C) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and over seven years of experience as a mental health professional. My journey as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse also deepens my understanding of how to approach care holistically, allowing me to see the full picture of each client's unique needs. I am continuously learning through professional development and clinical supervision, striving to provide compassionate, high-quality care.
I believe that at the heart of every successful therapeutic journey is a trusting relationship. Research shows that the therapeutic bond is a key factor in positive outcomes, and I am dedicated to creating a space where you feel safe, valued, and truly heard. My approach is client-centred, recognizing you as the expert of your own experience. Together, we will explore your path forward, focusing on your strengths while nurturing a sense of empowerment, confidence, and self-trust as we navigate through obstacles, both known and unexpected.
Therapy can often seem intimidating or mysterious, but my goal is to demystify the process and create a space rooted in unconditional positive regard and non-judgment. My style has been described as warm, authentic, and curious, and I find that humour and metaphor are powerful tools for healing and deepening understanding when appropriate. I also recognize the common misconception that therapists, by virtue of their expertise, have it all figured out. Instead, I approach each session as a shared human experience, where we can honour the beauty, challenges, and complexities of life together.
I look forward to walking this journey alongside you.
