Meet Khar!

Khar Mohan

  • Therapist/ Social Worker (MSW/RSW)

  • Registered in Ontario

I am a registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) with over ten years of experience in mental health and healthcare. I am committed to using skills proven to be effective through evidence-based research, and believe in the power of allyship, mutual respect, and self-reflexivity. This means that sometimes empathy and reassurance alone, may just not be enough for the "magic to happen". In these moments, I may gently challenge some of the beliefs that could be keeping you "stuck", and provide a kind hand in viewing the world through a different lens.

My role is one that provides guidance and direction to enhance the lives of people who know their situations best. It takes a great deal of determination and courage to reach a headspace to be open to therapy. Having a genuine and transparent approach to healing lends me the ability to support you in a non-judgemental, validating, and personable manner. Being a part of your journey is my absolute privilege.

I have worked in educational, clinical, and community settings with several diverse communities. I continue to support people in exploring how their intersectional identities affect them and impact their mental health and wellness. I incorporate my training in CBT, DBT, FBT and Mindfulness while using a strengths-based, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and biopsychosocial-spiritual model of support.
