Registered Counselling Therapist (RCT-C/ M.Ed.Counselling)
Works with Clients in Nova Scotia
Hello, I'm Vicki, a registered counseling therapist (RCT-C) with an M.E.d in Counseling from Acadia University. Throughout my practice, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of settings including holistic health clinics and university counseling centers, supporting people from all identities and walks of life on journeys of healing, self-discovery, and growth.
My approach to therapy is informed by narrative, feminist, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices, and is rooted in empathy and acceptance. I deeply respect your unique identity and experiences, and my aim is to create a warm and inclusive space where you feel heard and valued. In my practice, I specialize in areas such as self-worth, relational challenges, neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and OCD. I'm particularly drawn to exploring themes of belonging, identity, self-acceptance, and relational healing.
Using a narrative approach, I like to gently guide my clients through the layers of their stories, uncovering patterns and themes along the way. I also integrate techniques from modalities like emotion-focused therapy (EFT), internal family systems (IFS), somatics, mindfulness, attachment theory, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to support your emotional awareness, emotional regulation, and self-worth.
I believe in your innate capacity for growth and change, and my goal is to create a collaborative and supportive environment where you can explore, heal, and learn new ways of coping at your own pace. No matter where you are in your journey, it is my goal to offer you a safe haven to navigate life's complexities with empathy, acceptance, and compassion.
